ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the changing trend and epidemiological characteristics of the incidence and mortality of chronic kidney disease (CKD) with age, period and birth cohort in Chinese population. Methods Based on the data of incidence and mortality of CKD in Chinese population aged 20-80 years from 1990 to 2019 in GHDx database, joinpoint regression model was used to analyze the incidence and mortality trend of CKD. An age-period-cohort model was constructed to analyze the effects of age, period, and birth cohort on the trend of CKD incidence and mortality. Results Joinpoint regression analysis showed that the standardized incidence rate of chronic kidney disease in Chinese population increased from 146.37/100 000 in 1990 to 161.52/100 000 in 2019, while the standardized mortality rate decreased from 12.98/100 000 in 1990 to 11.23/100 000 in 2019. The APC model analysis showed that the risk of CKD incidence and death in the Chinese population increased with age, while the risk of CKD incidence increased with the increase of period. The risk of death did not change significantly with the increase of period. The cohort born later had a lower risk of CKD incidence and death compared to the cohort born earlier. Conclusion At present, the age effect and period effect of the incidence and death risk of chronic kidney disease in China are dominant. It is important to take effective measures and intervene in a timely manner, especially to strengthen the protection of older high-risk groups born earlier.

ABSTRACT

To optimize the formulation and technology of oxymatrine-astragaloside IV coloaded liposomes (Om-As-Lip) based on quality by design (QbD) principles, and further to verify the feasibility of its amplification process, Om-As-Lip was prepared by ethanol injection combined with pH gradient method. The critical material attributions of Om-As-Lip were evaluated by dual-risk analysis tools and Plackett-Burman design (PBD). The formulation of Om-As-Lip was further optimized with the Box-Behnken design (BBD). The design space was also established based on the contour plots of BBD. In order to further investigate the amplification process of Om-As-Lip, the critical process parameters of high-pressure homogenization (HPH) were optimized by single-factor test, and the quality of the final product was also evaluated. The results of risk analysis and PBD confirmed that the astragaloside concentration, cholesterol concentration, and phospholipid ratio (HSPC∶SPC) were the ctitical material attributes. The model established by BBD had a good predictability, and the optimized mass ratio of As to phospholipids was 1∶40, cholesterol to phospholipids was 1∶10, HSPC to SPC was 51∶9. The design space of Om-As-Lip was as follows: the ratio of cholesterol to phospholipids was 1∶12-1∶5 and HSPC to SPC was 1∶7-17∶3. The optimized high-pressure homogenization pressure was 600 bar, temperature was 4 ℃, and cycle times was 6 times for HPH-Om-As-Lip. The quality of Om-As-Lip prepared based on the QbD concept can meet the expected CQAs, and the formulation and technology established can provide a reliable experimental basis for its future development and applications.

ABSTRACT

In western medicine, the small intestine anatomically belongs to the digestive system and is also an important immune organ of the body. The innate immune system of the small intestine consists of a tissue barrier, innate immune cells, and innate immune molecules. The dysfunction of any part can cause metabolic disorders and eventually lead to diabetes. In the pathogenesis of diabetes, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has the theory of ''spleen deficiency causing diabetes'', which points out that the impaired spleen function results in inadequate transformation, impaired essence spread, and turbidity by essence accumulation, which is the core pathological link of blood glucose metabolism disorder in diabetes. In terms of the relationship between the small intestine and the spleen, the theory of TCM holds that the small intestine is located in the abdomen and the abdomen is dominated by the spleen. The digestion, absorption, and endocrine functions of the small intestine are also similar to the functions of spleen in governing movement and transformation and spreading essence by virtue of spleen Qi. Therefore, the anatomical and physiological functions of the small intestine in western medicine are closely related to the spleen in TCM. At the same time, the spleen is closely related to the innate immune function of the small intestine in TCM. The spleen participates in the generation and distribution of defense Qi, and the process of defense Qi playing the external function is similar to the process of the activation of the innate immune response. The spleen is also an important organ involved in fluid metabolism, which can cooperate with the lung and kidney to timely remove turbid fluid from the body. It can also work with the stomach as the hub of Qi ascending and descending and regulate the physiological activities of "clear Yang" and "turbid Yin", so as to ensure the homeostasis of the internal environment of the body, which is the basis for maintaining the normal function of the innate immunity of the small intestine. Therefore, taking "spleen deficiency causing diabetes" as a bridge, the theory of TCM and western medicine were combined to explain the relationship between small intestinal innate immunity imbalance and the pathogenesis of diabetes from the perspective of TCM, which is helpful to understand the pathogenesis of diabetes in a deeper level and also provide a new perspective and new way for the prevention and treatment of this disease with TCM.

ABSTRACT

SUMMARY: Sex determination of unknown persons plays an important role in forensic science. As most bones used for sex determination are recovered in incomplete state, it is often necessary to use bones that are recovered intact e.g., the sphenoid sinus. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic value of sphenoid sinuses dimensions for sex determination using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) images in Chinese adults. MRI images of 79 sphenoid sinuses (from 44 men and 35 women) were retrospectively selected. The height, anterior-posterior diameter, area, and perimeter were measured in the midsagittal view of the sphenoid sinuses. All data were subjected to descriptive and discriminative functional analysis with unpaired t-test and canonical discriminant. Comparison between male and female groups showed significant statistical differences regarding the height, anterior-posterior diameter, area, and perimeter of sphenoid sinuses. The predictive accuracy rate of the sphenoid sinus to identify sex was 63.6 % in males and 62.9 % in females with an overall accuracy of 63.3 %. This study proposed the importance of sexual dimorphism of sphenoid sinus dimensions, especially if other methods are not available. It suggested using MRI in forensics science thus obviating the complete dependence on the usage of conventional computed tomography (CT) and facilitating the study of forensic anatomy at the level of soft tissue.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To explore the incidence and clinical characteristics of engraftment syndrome (ES) after syngeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (syn-HSCT) in patients with hematological diseases. Methods: The clinical data of 21 patients who received syn-HSCT at People's Hospital of Peking University from January 1994 to May 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. Results: Seven (33.3% ) of 21 patients developed ES. The onset of ES symptoms occurred at a median of 8 (range: 5-13) days after HSCT, and the diagnosis of ES occurred at a median of 10 (range: 7-14) days after HSCT. Steroids were administered immediately after the diagnosis of ES, the median time of symptom continuance was 2 (range: 1-5) days, and all patients showed complete resolution of ES symptoms. In the multivariate analysis, patients with acute myeloid leukemia and faster neutrophil reconstitution were the risk factors for ES (HR=15.298, 95% CI 1.486-157.501, P=0.022, and HR=17.459, 95% CI 1.776-171.687, P=0.014) . Meanwhile, there was no significant difference in the overall survival and disease-free survival between patients with ES and those without ES. Conclusion: A high incidence of ES was observed in syn-HSCT recipients. Moreover, the prognosis of ES was excellent.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To determine the optimal cutoff value of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA load that can assist in the diagnosis of post-transplant lymphoproliferative disease (PTLD) after haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (haplo-HSCT) . Methods: The data of patients with EBV infection after haplo-HSCT from January to December 2016 were retrospectively analyzed. Through constructing the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and calculating the Youden index to determine the cutoff value of EBV-DNA load and its duration of diagnostic significance for PTLD. Results: A total of 94 patients were included, of whom 20 (21.3% ) developed PTLD, with a median onset time of 56 (40-309) d after transplantation. The median EBV value at the time of diagnosis of PTLD was 70,400 (1,710-1,370,000) copies/ml, and the median duration of EBV viremia was 23.5 (4-490) d. Binary logistic regression was used to analyze the peak EBV-DNA load (the EBV-DNA load at the time of diagnosis in the PTLD group) and duration of EBV viremia between the PTLD and non-PTLD groups. The results showed that the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P=0.018 and P=0.001) . The ROC curve was constructed to calculate the Youden index, and it was concluded that the EBV-DNA load ≥ 41 850 copies/ml after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation had diagnostic significance for PTLD (AUC=0.847) , and the sensitivity and specificity were 0.611 and 0.932, respectively. The duration of EBV viremia of ≥20.5 d had diagnostic significance for PTLD (AUC=0.833) , with a sensitivity and specificity of 0.778 and 0.795, respectively. Conclusion: Dynamic monitoring of EBV load in high-risk patients with PTLD after haplo-HSCT and attention to its duration have important clinical significance, which can help clinically predict the occurrence of PTLD in advance and take early intervention measures.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the effects of amarogentinon liver cancer stem cells (LCSCs) after insufficient thermal ablation and its mechanism. Methods A insufficient thermal ablation model of HepG2 cells was established by water bath method. The percentage of CD133-positive LCSCs and the mRNA and protein levels of CD133 were detected by flow cytometry, qRT-PCR and Western blot. The insufficient thermal ablation model of HepG2 cells was treated with variable doses of amarogentin for 24 h; the percentage of CD133-positive LCSCs, the proliferation and apoptosis of liver cancer cells, and the mRNA and protein levels of CD133, TBC1D15, and p53were detected by flow cytometry, qRT-PCR and Western blot. Results The percentage of CD133-positive HepG2 cells and the mRNA and protein levels of CD133 and TBC1D15in the insufficient thermal ablation model were significantly higher than those in the normal HepG2 cells.Amarogentin then markedly decreased the percentage of CD133-positive LCSCs, the proliferation rate of HepG2 cells, and the mRNA and protein levels of CD133 and TBC1D15 in the insufficient thermal ablationresidual model (all P < 0.05);inversely, the apoptosis rate of HepG2 cells and the phosphorylated levels of p53 in the insufficient thermal ablation model were significantly increased (all P < 0.05). Conclusion Amarogentin could reduce the proportion of LCSCs after insufficient thermal ablation, inhibit the proliferation, and promote the apoptosis of LCSCs, which maybe associated with increasing the phosphorylation of p53 and inhibiting the expression of TBC1D15.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the influential factors of adverse pregnancy outcomes in women with subchorionic hematoma. Methods:A total of 101 women with subchorionic hematoma who received treatment in the People's Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region from January 2017 to June 2020 were included in this study. They were divided into a control group and an adverse pregnancy outcome group according to whether there was an adverse pregnancy outcome. The epidemiological characteristics, hematoma characteristics observed on ultrasound images, and pregnancy outcomes were compared between the two groups. Results:There was no significant difference in the number of women who used assisted reproductive technology between the control and adverse pregnancy outcome groups [6 (8.0%) vs. 8 (30.7%), χ2 = 8.38, P = 0.004]. There was a significant difference in hematoma volume between adverse pregnancy outcome and control groups [(4.12 ± 0.61) mL vs. (6.36 ± 0.87) mL, t = 6.73, P = 0.009]. There was a significant difference in the number of patients who had obstetric complications between control and adverse pregnancy outcome groups [11 (14.7%) vs. 16 (61.5%), χ2 = 21.66, P = 0.001]. There was a significant difference in the number of patients who had hematomas located at the edge of the placenta between the control and adverse pregnancy outcome groups [15 (20.0%) vs. 12 (46.2%), χ2 = -4.81, P = 0.001]. Conclusion:Women who use assisted reproductive technology for pregnancy, have obstetric complications, or have a subchorionic hematoma with hematoma at the edge of the placenta are more likely to experience a miscarriage. Therefore, women of childbearing age should actively treat the primary disease and be alert to the occurrence of placental abruption.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To study the protective effects and mechanisms of melatonin (MTn) on lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and hypoxic-ischemic(HI) induced white matter damage (WMD) in neonatal rats.Methods:Seventy-two 3-day-old newborn Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly assigned into sham operation group (the sham group), model group (the HI group) and MTn intervention group (the HI+MTn group) ( n=24 for each group). For the sham group, only dissection of the right common carotid artery was performed without ligation. Animal models of WMD were established using LPS pretreatment and HI method in both the HI group and HI+MTn group. The HI+MTn group received MTn intraperitoneal injection (15 mg/kg, 1 h before LPS injection and then once daily). The HI group and the sham group received equal volume of normal saline containing 1% ethanol intraperitoneal injection. The rats were sacrificed on d7 of experiment and periventricular white matter (PVWM) was collected for hematoxylin-eosin (HE) and TUNEL staining to determine WMD and apoptosis. The distribution and morphology of microglial cells in the PVWM were studied using IBA1 immunofluorescence staining. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) kit was used to detect ROS. The expression of nucleotide-binding domain-like receptor protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasomes, interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-18 and mitochondrial autophagy markers (pink1 and parkin) were determined using real-time quantitative PCR. Results:Compared with the sham group, the HI group showed WMD, cell degeneration and necrosis, increased cell apoptosis and increased expressions of NLRP3 inflammasomes and downstream inflammatory factors (IL-1β and IL-18) in PVWM. Compared with the HI group, the HI+MTn group showed reduced WMD, cell apoptosis, microglia infiltration and inflammatory factors expression. MTn increased pink1 and parkin expression and reduced ROS production in PVWM.Conclusions:MTn reduces ROS production by enhancing mitochondrial autophagy and inhibits NLRP3 inflammasomes hyperactivation to alleviate endotoxin- and HI-induced WMD in neonatal rats.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo compare the effects of two different insemination methods, conventional in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), on pregnancy outcomes in patients with frozen-thawed D6(day 6) blastocyst transfer. MethodsA retrospective cohort study was conducted to analyze the clinical data of patients with thawed D6 blastocyst transfer between January 2018 and April 2020 at the Fertility Center of the Third Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, divided into conventional IVF group (446 cycles ) and ICSI fertilization group (200 cycles) according to the fertilization method. Patients were divided into those with a history of D5(day 5) blastocyst transfer and those without. The patients’ general characteristics, blastocyst quality, and pregnancy outcomes of the two groups were compared. ResultsBMI, years of infertility, and basal FSH were not statistically significant in the IVF and ICSI groups (P > 0.05). Regardless of the history of D5 transfer, patients in the ICSI group were younger than those in the IVF group (P < 0.001), the proportion of primary infertility was significantly higher in the ICSI group (P < 0.001), and the number of oocytes obtained and the number of normally fertilized oocytes in the ICSI group were higher than those in the conventional IVF fertilization group (P < 0.001). The proportion of stage V and Ⅵ blastocysts was significantly higher in the conventional IVF group than in the ICSI group (21.6 % vs. 3.14 %, P < 0.001). High-quality blastocysts with an ICM score of A were significantly higher in the ICSI group than in the IVF group (23.8 % vs. 14.3 %, P = 0.01). The HCG-positive and clinical pregnancy rates were significantly higher in the ICSI group than in the IVF group (65.5 % vs. 48.4 %, P < 0.001; 56 % vs. 41.3 %, P = 0.001), and embryo implantation and live birth rates were also higher in the ICSI group than in the conventional IVF group (43.8 % vs. 30.9 %, P < 0.001; 43.0 % vs. 31.8 %, P = 0.006). After correcting for age and number of oocytes obtained between the two groups, the clinical pregnancy rate was still significantly higher in the ICSI group than in the conventional IVF group (OR: 1.590, 95 % CI: 1.030, 2.455, P = 0.036). Infant birth weight was lower in the ICSI group than in the IVF group (P = 0.016), and the differences in preterm birth rate, sex ratio, and mode of delivery were not statistically significant between the two groups. ConclusionsClinical pregnancy and live birth rates after thawing and transfer of D6 blastocysts fertilized by ICSI are higher than those of D6 blastocysts fertilized by conventional IVF, which may be related to the different factors contributing to the slow development of blastocysts in patients who received different fertilization methods. The relatively good pregnancy outcome after the transfer of thawed D6 blastocysts fertilized by ICSI may compensate to some extent for the difference in pregnancy outcome due to the relatively slow blastocyst development and a relatively higher proportion of D6 blastocysts after ICSI fertilization in male infertility patients.

ABSTRACT

Objective Idiopathic non-cirrhotic portal hypertension (INCPH) is a rare cause of portal hypertension, and this study aims to analyze the clinical features of patients with INCPH, and to assist in diagnosis and differential diagnosis. Methods A total of 74 patients who were hospitalized in Beijing YouAn Hospital from January 2019 to July 2022 and were diagnosed with INCPH were enrolled, and 332 patients with liver cirrhosis who were hospitalized during the same period of time were enrolled as control group. Demographic data, laboratory markers, gastroscopy, liver elasticity, pathological examination, and complications were recorded and compared between the two groups. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to investigate the ability of liver stiffness measurement (LSM), aspartate aminotransferase-to-platelet ratio index (APRI), and fibrosis-4 (FIB-4) in the differential diagnosis of INCPH, and the DeLong test was used to compare the area under the ROC curve (AUC). The independent-samples t test was used for comparison of normally distributed continuous data between two groups, and the Mann-Whitney U test was used for comparison of non-normally distributed continuous data between two groups; the chi-square test was used for comparison of categorical data between two groups. Results Among the patients with INCPH, 46.55% had no obvious symptoms at disease onset and 43.24% were misdiagnosed with liver cirrhosis. Compared with the patients with liver cirrhosis, the patients with INCPH had a significantly higher proportion of patients with gastrointestinal bleeding (62.16% vs 41.27%, χ 2 =10.67, P < 0.01) and a significantly lower proportion of patients with moderate-to-severe ascites (16.21% vs 29.82%, χ 2 =34.98, P < 0.01), and there were few patients with hepatic encephalopathy. As for pathology, 89.19% (66/74) of the INCPH patients manifested as typical occlusive portal vein disease. The statistical analysis showed that compared with the patients with liver cirrhosis, the patients with INCPH had significantly better liver function parameters, MELD score, and Child-Pugh score and significantly lower LSM [9.05(7.18-12.33) vs 25.32(16.21-47.23), Z =-8.41, P < 0.01], APRI score [0.70(0.41-1.28) vs 1.35(0.80-2.39), Z =-6.21, P < 0.01], and FIB-4 index [2.99(1.62-4.81) vs 6.68(4.06-10.42), Z =-8.39, P < 0.01]. LSM, FIB-4, and APRI had a good ability in differentiating INCPH from liver cirrhosis, and in particular, LSM had an AUC of up to 0.92 (95% confidence interval: 0.87-0.96), with a sensitivity of 92.68% and a specificity of 81.60%. Conclusion INCPH patients tend to have an insidious onset, a relatively high incidence rate of portal hypertension-related complications, and relatively good liver function, especially the patients with LSM < 14.5 kPa. The possibility of INCPH should be considered for such patients in clinical practice.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo obtain the status of latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) among tuberculosis (TB)-related health-care workers (HCWs) in Shanghai, and to explore the risk factors related to TB infection. MethodsA multi-center cross-sectional study was conducted by recruiting medical workers from multiple designated TB hospitals, centers for disease control and prevention, and community health service centers in Shanghai. Each subject was required to complete a questionnaire and to provide a blood sample for TB infection test. Univariate and multivariate analysis ware made in order to find risk factors relating to TB infection. ResultsA total of 165 medical workers were recruited, and the proportion of TB infection was 16.36% (95%CI: 11.49%‒22.76%). Multivariate logistic analysis showed that clinical doctors and nurses (adjusted OR=9.756, 95%CI: 1.790‒53.188), laboratory staffs (adjusted OR=78.975, 95%CI: 8.749‒712.918), and nursing and cleaning workers (adjusted OR=89.920, 95%CI: 3.111‒2 598.930) had higher risk of TB infection. ConclusionThe overall LTBI prevalence among TB-related HCWs is low. However, working as doctors, nurses, laboratory staffs, nursing workers and cleaning workers are risk factors of TB infection. TB-related HCWs who work at hospitals are at risk of TB infection comparing to medical staffs who work outside hospitals.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE To explore the effects of posaconazole combined with proton pump inhibitors (PPI) on the blood concentration and the risk of invasive fungal disease (IFD) in patients with malignant hematological disorder. METHODS In accordance with the random number table method, 40 patients with malignant hematological disorders who were admitted to the hematology department of our hospital between December 2020 and December 2021 were chosen and divided into control group (20 cases) and observation group (20 cases). The control group received Posaconazole oral suspension alone, while the observation group received Posaconazole oral suspension combined with PPI. The incidence of IFD, attainment rate of blood concentration, the time from the start of prophylaxis to IFD onset, the fatality associated with IFD, treatment of infected patients, and blood concentrations of posaconazole on 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th day after posaconazole application were compared between 2 groups; the occurrence of adverse events during drug administration in the two groups was recorded. RESULTS The study was stopped because 2 patients in the observation group and 9 patients in the control group received hospital departures after taking posaconazole for fewer than 7 days. The incidence of IFD in the observation group was significantly higher than control group, and the attainment rate of blood concentration in the observation group was significantly lower than control group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the time from the start of prophylaxis to IFD onset, the fatality associated with IFD, treatment of infected patients and the incidence of adverse events (P> 0.05). The blood concentration of posaconazole in the observation group was significantly lower than control group on 7th day of medication (P<0.05); there was no significant in blood concentration of posaconazole between 2 groups on the 14th day of medication (P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS Posaconazole combined with PPI can reduce the blood concentration of patients with malignant hematological disorders, increase the risk of IFD. Clinical practice should try to avoid the combination of the two or use them under the guidance of therapeutic drug monitoring.

ABSTRACT

Objective To assess the prevalence of female breast cancer in the city using data from the Wuhan Disease and Cause of Death Surveillance System for the past 10 years to provide a reference for breast cancer prevention and control. Methods The incidence case data from 2013 to 2017 and death case data from 2010 to 2019 in all districts of Wuhan city were collected. The incidence and mortality and their age-standardized rates were calculated. The joinpoint linear regression model was used to analyze the average annual percentage change (AAPC) , and the Bayesian age-period-cohort model (BAPC) was used to predict the mortality and age-standardized mortality of breast cancer among women in Wuhan from 2020 to 2024. Results The incidence and age-standardized incidence were 56.56/100 000 and 45.37/100 000 in 2013, and 67.46/100 000 and 52.01/100 000 in 2017, respectively. The changes showed an upward trend, but the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). The mortality and age-standardized mortality were 9.80/100 000 and 8.07/100 000 in 2010, and 10.47/100 000 and 7.13/100 000 in 2019, respectively. Although the rough mortality increased, the age-standardization mortality declined significantly (AAPC=2.13%, P<0.05). BAPC prediction results show that the standardized mortality rate of female breast cancer in Wuhan will drop to 6.33/100 000 in 2024. The peak age of incidence was in the age groups of 45-74 years and the peak age of mortality was in the age group of 85 years or older. In addition , the morbidity and mortality rates in the central urban area were higher than those in the distant urban area , and the difference decreased year by year. The BAPC predicted that the age-standardized mortality for breast cancer in women in Wuhan will decrease to 6.33 per 100 000 in 2024. Conclusion Breast cancer incidence and mortality rates in females in Wuhan show an increasing trend . However , the age-standardized mortality is on a significant downward trend due to the delay in the age of death. The elderly and those in central urban areas are the high-risk groups, so we should pay more attention to these groups , analyze the related risk factors , and take targeted prevention and control measures.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the changing trend of disease burden attributable to renal insufficiency in cardiovascular disease (CVD) among the elderly in China from 1990 to 2019, and to forecast the disability-adjusted life years (DALY) in the next 10 years, so as to provide a reference basis for accurate prevention and control of CVD attributable to renal insufficiency in China. Methods Data were obtained from the Global Health Data Exchange (GHDx) database to describe the current status of CVD prevalence attributable to renal insufficiency. The joinpoint model was used to estimate the annual percentage change and average annual percentage change to assess the temporal trend of CVD attributable to renal insufficiency in China. An autoregressive moving average model was created by R4.0.2 software to predict the disease burden of CVD attributable to renal insufficiency in China. Results Compared with 1990, CVD mortality and DALY rates attributed to renal insufficiency increased in the male elderly population and decreased in women. Mortality and DALY rates attributed to ischemic heart disease, ischemic stroke, and peripheral arterial disease attributed to renal insufficiency showed an increasing trend, and mortality and DALY rates for cerebral hemorrhage decreased. There was an overall increasing trend in the attribution of CVD due to renal insufficiency. Conclusion The burden of diseases attributable to renal insufficiency in Chinese elderly with CVD is relatively high, and the impact on each disease is different, which requires the attention of relevant authorities.
